Photo Image Series: Am I beautiful? Am I feminine?; 2001

The subject of this series is beauty and femininity, specifically, how society's idea of beauty influences a girl's self image. I chose Barbie to represent society's idea of beauty. In these images, Barbie and the girl's faces are intermingled, representing how society's beauty blurs a woman's sense of self.
